New Orleans area high school students are invited to meet recruiters & apply onsite |
(New Orleans, LA) – Q.U.E.E.N.S., Inc., a New Orleans based service-learning organization for girls, will host its annual HBCU Recruitment Fair on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Rosenwald Recreation Center’s gymnasium, 1120 S Broad Street in New Orleans. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The HBCU Recruitment Fair will provide local high school students with opportunities to: learn what HBCU’s have to offer; speak with recruiters; obtain application fee waivers from offering schools; and gain onsite admissions or scholarships if eligible.The event is open to high school students throughout the Greater New Orleans area, and students should bring copies of their current transcript and SAT and ACT scores. Q.U.E.E.N.S. Founder & Director Patricia Alexis said, “HBCUs are vital in developing leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators, and we want our youth to have full access to all they have to offer.” Confirmed participants include more than 20 HBCUs, several local colleges, and members of the U.S. military: Alcorn State University; Dillard University; Alabama A & M University; Jackson State University; Talladega College; University of Arkansas Pine Bluff; Howard University; Tougaloo College; Fisk University; Texas Southern University; Stillman College; Tennessee State University; Alabama State University; Florida A & M University; Prairie View A & M University; Mississippi Valley State; Xavier University; Southern University and A & M College; Grambling State University; Miles College; Southern University at New Orleans; Tuskegee University; Hampton University; Delgado Community College; Nunez Community College; U.S. Army; U.S. Marines; U.S. Air Force; and U.S. Coast Guard.
