(New Orleans, LA) – New Orleans native, caregiver consultant and author Nadine Roberts Cornish will visit her hometown of New Orleans to raise awareness about the important role of caregiving during National Family Caregivers Month, November 2017.
While in New Orleans, Roberts Cornish will serve as the keynote speaker during Care, Cuisine and Conversations, presented by The Caregivers Guardian and Antoine’s Restaurant on Wednesday, Nov. 15. The private event will celebrate and provide respite and inspiration to New Orleans caregivers and care providers from the medical, mental health and gerontology fields.
Roberts Cornish said: “Today, there are more than 44 million caregivers throughout our nation who are responsible for the care and protection of others. In addition, more than twenty-five percent of the workforce is affected by caregiving issues and concerns. My top priority is to raise awareness surrounding resources available to caregivers who bear responsibility for themselves and others, and New Orleans is home to many selfless caregivers.”
Roberts Cornish is author of Tears in My Gumbo: The Caregiver’s Recipe to Resilience—a heartfelt manuscript that shares personal and caregiver stories that inspire and support caregivers and the family unit involved in caring for a loved one. In addition, Roberts Cornish has launched a national movement called, “Care-ocity,”™ which mobilizes businesses, organizations, and churches to support caregivers by creating a community of conscious caring and resilience.To date, she has presented for the AARP, The Congressional Black Caucus, The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Alzheimer’s Association and, most recently, TED-X.
Nadine Roberts Cornish is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), Gerontologist, Coach and Speaker. She is the author of Tears in My Gumbo, A Caregiver’s Recipe for Resilience and the founder of The Caregiver’s Guardian (TCG), a Denver Colorado-based consulting service that supports, encourages and advocates for the family caregiver of an elderly loved one.
